Ligament procedures

Knee ligament injuries are common in sports. At Orton, we perform repairs of anterior cruciate ligaments (ACL), posterior cruciate ligaments (PCL) and collateral ligaments. We also treat patellar dislocations.

Ligament procedures are usually performed as arthroscopic day surgeries – but the patient may stay overnight if necessary.

Sick leave and rehabilitation

The need for sick leave is assessed individually and according to the rehabilitation requirements. Generally, the patient can put their weight on the limb after the procedure, but crutches are necessary to ensure balance. Physiotherapy is started around two weeks after the surgery.
