Lymphatic manual therapy restores balance, relieves swelling, and help you feel lighter.

Lymphatic therapy is a specialized form of physiotherapy designed to treat swelling (edema) and the discomfort it can cause. The treatment gently stimulates the lymphatic system, supporting your body’s natural ability to remove excess fluid and waste products.
What does lymphatic therapy do?
- Activates and improves lymphatic circulation
- Reduces swelling and pain
Promotes relaxation and overall well-being
Lymphatic massage uses gentle, rhythmic movements that encourage fluid flow without pressure or discomfort. To maintain results, treatment is often combined with compression therapy — such as compression bandages, sleeves, or stockings.
Lymphatic therapy may help with:
- Swelling after lymph node removal
- Post-infection swelling (e.g., following erysipelas)
- Rheumatism and fibromyalgia
- Swelling after injuries or surgery
- Advanced venous insufficiency and venous leg ulcers
- CRPS, as well as nerve and connective tissue conditions
When is lymphatic therapy not recommended?
Lymphatic therapy should be avoided during acute infections, in cases of deep vein thrombosis, or if there is an untreated malignant tumor.
How often should you come?
While a single session can be beneficial, lymphatic therapy is most effective as part of a treatment series. The number and frequency of sessions depend on your condition and the area being treated.
Compression therapy – supporting your results
At the start of treatment, compression bandages are used to reduce swelling. Once the swelling has decreased, medical-grade compression garments (such as sleeves, stockings, or gloves) help maintain your results. Compression therapy is not used in cases of nerve or connective tissue irritation.
How to start lymphatic therapy?
You can book lymphatic therapy with or without a doctor’s referral. Cancer patients, however, will need a referral to ensure treatment safety. In some cases, Kela reimbursement may apply.
