Rheumatic diseases are long-term inflammatory autoimmune diseases that can affect any part of the human body. Some of the most common rheumatic diseases in addition to rheumatoid arthritis are ankylosing spondylitis (spinal arthritis) and gout. There are also numerous less common rheumatic diseases.
