Pool therapy is suitable for almost everyone, as it combines the ease and effectiveness of movement.
In the water, you can safely practice and improve your functional ability, for example during recovery from surgery or injury, or if you have balance difficulties.
The temperature of the therapy pool water is +32°C. The pool size is 8 x 4 meters.
Aquatic therapy can benefit you if you have:
- back or joint pain
- balance disorders or dizziness
- an injury or illness that limits movement
- overweight or find moving on dry land difficult.
Water supports joints and reduces strain
Water supports the joints and reduces their strain. It makes it easier to control balance and helps reduce swelling thanks to hydrostatic pressure. For example, after an injury or surgery, aquatic therapy allows safe and effective exercise during rehabilitation.
Orton’s physiotherapists and rehabilitation nurse Salla Reinivuo are here to assist you – and if desired, they can be in the pool with you to ensure your safety. If you use a wheelchair, our pool area also has a pool lift to facilitate access.
Aquatic therapy individually or in a group
The therapy pool is excellently suited for individual therapy, aquatic relaxation, and guided small group training.
