ORTON Invalidis

"WE WISH TO CREATE A BRIGHTER FUTURE

 FOR OUR CUSTOMERS"

The sculpture park

ORTON Gallery’s sculpture park, located in the Invalid Foundation’s park, was the idea of the sculptor Hannu Siren. Hannu Siren is also the man who created the first sculpture to be placed in the sculpture park. His sculpture "Varjo" is made of corten steel. All the sculptures in the collection have been entrusted to the Invalid Foundation. This means that the Invalid Foundation holds the sculptures in long-term trust, but the artists retain the right of ownership.

The sculpture park can hold no more than ten or so sculptures at any one time. The goal is to display the sculptures in such a way that they fit into their surroundings and have enough space around them. Finding a location that respects the inherent values of the piece always requires close collaboration between the gallery and the artist.

From the viewpoint of artists, the sculpture park provides a meaningful opportunity to exhibit sculptures that do not yet have a permanent location.
